Over the past ten years Age UK Oxfordshire has provided a free independent specialist information, advice, advocacy and active casework service for individuals and their representatives within Oxfordshire who have received an NHS continuing healthcare (CHC) assessment. This service is open to anybody entering the long-term care system and at any stage of the continuing healthcare process, from initial hospital Checklist through to retrospective reviews covering several years’ worth of care.

Age UK Oxfordshire are the only local Age UK partner to provide a specialist, dedicated continuing healthcare casework service and as a result, they often receive calls from individuals across the UK asking for help in their area. Unfortunately they are unable to support people outside of Oxfordshire and have been looking for an ethical, affordable organisation to signpost individuals into.

We are delighted to announce that Age UK Oxfordshire has now chosen to endorse Beacon for continuing healthcare support with assessments and appeals across the UK, having been convinced of the quality of our information, advice and casework. They will also be recommending that people access our Navigational Toolkit alongside Age UK’s own Fact Sheets as a way of empowering people with the information they need to navigate the assessment process or appeal an eligibility decision.
