Tailored content to meet your needs

Training content is designed around your organisation’s particular needs. We begin by providing a comprehensive guide to the most common subject areas, to help you think about which would be the most useful to your team. We’ll then talk this through with you to understand your particular needs, challenges and focus, before developing your tailored training agenda.

Training can range from a series of one-hour presentations to intensive two-day events. One or more half-day workshops are what most of our clients prefer.

We can cover any topic to do with Continuing Healthcare. Here are some examples:

  • Introduction to NHS Continuing Healthcare
  • The National Framework 2022 (including key updates)
  • Key principles of assessment and decision-making, including well managed need, with examples
  • How ICBs should engage the individual and their representative effectively to promote confidence and empower them to contribute effectively
  • Checklist process and best practice and sample exercise
  • Decision Support Tool / full consideration of needs assessment process – best practice with examples
  • Detailed examination of eligibility criteria and the Coughlan test
  • Detailed domain-by-domain study of the DST with practical examples
  • Care planning and case management
  • Dispute resolution between agencies
  • Robust information and evidence-gathering
  • How Section 117 interacts with CHC
  • Transition from Children’s Continuing Care

“The excellent training provided to us in Ealing Adult Social Care…has truly enabled us to successfully support very vulnerable clients to receive the healthcare to which they have been entitled” – Jan, Ealing Social Services

“Beacon provided a bespoke piece of training for a specific group of families accessing our service.  The training they provided was tailored precisely to the families’ needs, incorporated our specific requirements and was presented professionally and in a very accessible way.  The training was highly valued by our families and staff group alike” – Lauren, Havens Hospices

“Beacon provided training on NHS Continuing Healthcare to our information and advocacy team at our head office in London. They were keen to accommodate our team’s training needs, and made sure to tailor the training session around this. It was valuable to learn more about how to navigate the system and how to advise on people’s rights. As a team we now feel much more confident in responding to queries relating to continuing healthcare” – Jackie, Muscular Dystrophy UK
