Please note that all Beacon services remain fully operational during the coronavirus emergency.

This service is completely free (apart from the cost of the call), with no strings attached, because we are paid by the NHS to provide this service in England.

Don’t worry, we are proudly independent, and will give you honest and clear advice.

Paid case management

Alternatively, if you prefer, you can pay for our bespoke casework and advocacy service in the run-up and on the day of your assessment for NHS Continuing Healthcare.

This service is uniquely tailored to your needs and wishes. We can help you to apply for an assessment, understand the eligibility criteria and Decision Support Tool, prepare for your own role in the assessment meeting and ensure that the paperwork comprehensively reflects your care needs.

This service might include one or all of the following:

  • a telephone, Skype or face-to-face consultation with you, followed-up by written advice
  • your Beacon caseworker attending a care plan review at your care home
  • your Beacon caseworker attending the Continuing Healthcare assessment as your advocate
  • reviewing the completed Decision Support Tool

How much does it cost?

Our Assessment Support Service is charged at our hourly rate.

You have complete control over the costs because we won’t tie you in to a long contract and we’ll discuss the number of hours required before proceeding at each stage.

As a guide, the cost of Beacon providing professional advocacy at an assessment to help secure 12 months of funding is usually less than the equivalent of two weeks’ care fees.
