Beacon’s Managing Director, Dan Harbour, has continued his long-running professional relationship with NHS England by being invited to take part in the interview process for the recruitment of Independent Review Panel chairs across the South of England.

Independent Review Panels play an important role in the continuing healthcare appeal process so it is essential that these panels are chaired by lay people with the right skills and experience to facilitate fair and consistent decision-making. Chairs must also be completely independent of the NHS.

Dan was asked to act as NHS England’s independent representative on the IRP interview panels, utilising his 11 years’ of experience in managing continuing healthcare appeals to help select the right candidates for this important role.
